comparison with cable and satellite basic services and Over the Air OTA
as another alternative

news
12th June 2009
On this day the
analogue signals were shut down in the US and many Canadians who are
using Over the air Ariel's (Antennas) lost PBS, WNED, ABC, NBC, Fox, and
other US stations as they switched to digital.
Save And Replay
were also featured in an article by John Bowman on cbcnews and also
aired again on consumer reports on Global TV with Sean O'Shea.

More and more
customers flock to our stores and are purchasing online Antennas and
other OTA gear, the demand has become even more excessive as cable
companies are trying to put pressure on the consumer and are forcing
people to sign a 2 year contract with Rogers cable for basic cable
services in the Toronto core areas. This pressure has caused more and
more people to come and switch over the OTA as their primary source of
basic television services in the Toronto area. More and more of our
customers are reporting that cable companies are trying to force them
into a contract to continue to receive cable services!

Now we are
getting more feedback that the CRTC in Canada are trying to introduce a
new tax, and whatever is this for? Its called a television tax? So now
not only does cable or basic satellite services come with a monthly bill
but now perhaps a new tax on top of that! For what you can receive for
free with no monthly cost and in better quality and even in true 1080i
HD people are going to be charged a television tax on top of the monthly
bills. We have seen even a bigger demand for over the air HD Antennas.
The cost of basic cable or satellite is around $30 a month plus tax with
no HD, outdoor Antenna is still only a one time cost of $54.99. a J-Pole
$16.99 and RG6 good quality cable around $8 is all you need and you can
be free of any monthly bills for basic cable services and enjoy them in
true HD. Customers are stating that for basic cable in HD the cost is
$70 a month! No wonder our sales are skyrocketing and the amount of
people going to OTA is increasing dramatically!

The competition
gets hotter OTA is competing against cable and satellite, in Canada
today those people that tuned in to NBC saw the Michael Jackson memorial
ceremony in 1080i HD, paid no monthly fee and got the best quality
picture using an over the air antenna. That's right even for those
paying over $70 a month for a cable digital box and a monthly bill did
not get true uncompressed 1080i viewing today. Even satellite services
gave you this ceremony in 720P compressed. OTA was the clear winner
today! For popular shows like America's got talent and daily soaps as
well as local news and local network content people viewing using OTA
are currently getting the best quality picture on their TV! True 1080i
HD uncompressed!

Sales continue
to soar for over the air Antenna's. More and more people are very hot
about the new CRTC fund for cable and satellite companies imposed for
signals from over the air broadcasters. Now this new CRTC LPIF, for
Local Programming Improvement Fund is being passed back to the consumer
by Rogers, people are coming to us showing us a letter from their cable
providers telling them a 1.5% recurring fee will be applied to their
cable bill after 31st August 2009. What is this fee for? This fee is so
they can broadcast over the air local content to the consumer which is
available for free on over the air. They broadcast it to the consumer
for a monthly fee compress it, make it poorer quality then the over the
air feed in 1080i HD that is available for free and charge you not only
a monthly fee but now want to charge extra for it? Makes no sense. No
wonder people are turning over a new leaf. There is an alternative to
basic television and it is better quality then cable or satellite and in
true HD and its free of monthly bills. This is a new era and the days
for paying for basic cable in major cities like Toronto, Windsor,
Quebec, Vancouver and its surrounding areas. The tables have began to
turn and we are witnessing a dramatic turn of events that is going to
change the way people view their basic major networks and this is not by
forcing them to pay more and get less. Both cable and satellite
companies are marketing red and blue couches which couch is the best? We
say take neither the red or blue couch but choose the white one as seen
on our home page!
